- Material selection and ordering. Common species are stocked. Special and exotic woods are pre-ordered.
- Acclimation. Wood is delivered ahead of installation so it adjusts to your home's humidity before it goes down.
- Installation. Boards are laid, nailed and prepared by trained technicians.

Hardwood Installation FAQ
How much does hardwood flooring installation cost?
New hardwood installation averages $12 to $30 per square foot installed, depending on the species of flooring. Oak is the most common and easiest to price, and exotic species cost more. Send photos or measurements and we'll give you an estimate.
How long does hardwood flooring installation take?
Most installation projects take about 2–3 days for the install, plus time for on-site sanding and finishing when the floor is unfinished. We confirm the schedule at your estimate. Special or exotic species are pre-ordered and usually arrive in 3–7 days.
Which hardwood species do you install?
Red oak and white oak are the most common in Maryland homes, followed by maple, hickory and walnut. We also install exotic species and wide-plank options, and we can match new floors to existing ones.
Do you install over a subfloor or concrete?
We evaluate your subfloor during the estimate. Moisture, flatness and structure all affect which product and installation method is right, and we explain the options before any work begins.
Can you finish the new floor on site?
Yes. Site-finished floors are sanded and finished in your home, which gives a seamless look, custom stain color and a flat, smooth surface across rooms.
